Adult Education

Adult Education Class

Our adult education class, “Ushering in the Holy,” is taught each Sunday morning at 8:45 am by Pastor Amy in the chapel wing on the main level of the church. The class fosters learning that invites a deeper understanding of the Bible and individual faith formation and spiritual growth while engaging in lively conversation.

Topical Adult Education

We also offer topical adult education series, taught by both our clergy staff and members of the congregation. Together we have studied issues of racism and white privilege, mental health and faith, immigration, the Bible and the transgender experience, forgiveness, stewardship, and deeper dives into specific books of the Bible.

Holy Spirits

“Holy Spirits,” an informal gathering at a local watering hole, meets monthly to discuss various aspects of faith, including justice-work, foundations of the Christian faith, and what the Bible says about controversial topics.

Lent Program

Each Lenten season, Kent United Church of Christ offers a midweek Lenten program Wednesdays from 6:00–8:00 pm. We begin around tables with a simple soup supper and then participate in an educational program that invites deeper introspection, exploration of biblical Lenten themes, and group study. Childcare is provided.
