The Diaconate is the spiritual lay leadership of the church.

From the Greek “diakonos” meaning “to serve,” this pastoral and spiritual care ministry assists the pastoral staff in the administration of the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism; assists with funerals; visits the sick, those in nursing facilities or homebound; and reaches out to those in need of physical, emotional and spiritual care. The Deacons’ Ministry, along with the pastoral staff, oversees the Community and Congregational Assistance Fund which assists both church members and those needing compassion and assistance in the wider community.
