Rummage Sale

Rummage sale postponed until Spring 2022

The rummage sale committee has decided to postpone the annual rummage sale until Spring 2022 with sale dates to be determined.  We are disappointed to have to postpone the sale, but felt it was in the best interest of the church and sale volunteers. The increase in COVID cases due to the Delta variant poses significant risks to having the sale in an enclosed space such as ours.  We explored alternative options, but ultimately felt the logistical issues, weather uncertainty, potential incurred additional costs, and availability of volunteers would make having a safe and productive sale difficult.

We know many of you have been collecting and storing items for the sale, and we greatly appreciate your willingness to do so.  If you can still store those items until spring that would be great.  We also understand that many of you need to move those items out of your house or storage areas.  The committee would be happy to help you determine where those items could be donated at this time.  Please realize that many of the receiving agencies have different guidelines for donations than in the past and others are still not accepting donations.  On a limited basis the committee can provide assistance to those who are unable to take items to a donation center.  Please contact the church office (330-673-9534) or Glenn Hanniford (330-687-6512)  to request help.

For over three decades the Kent UCC has organized rummage sales.

More than just rummage, this is a ministry of community service, outreach and fellowship.  We have become very well known in the community for our annual rummage sale which now happens every fall. The Rummage Sale Committee organizes the sale held in mid-September. The committee coordinates volunteers, pick-up and drop off of donated items, food for volunteers, organizes donations and runs the Rummage Sale. Volunteering to work on our rummage sale reap rewards of fun, fellowship and good service!
